Safe & Efficient
Tooth Extraction

Dental forceps being used to remove tooth

Drs Kimmerling & McGrath have provided tooth extraction for many years.  They not only have years of experience but also attend training to stay up to date with the latest tooth extractions techniques.  We follow all HIPPA, OSHA & CDC guidelines to help ensure the best service.  Each patient receives the individual attention they deserve, and we have treated thousands of patients since 1982.  When you come to our office, you will seldom see anyone waiting in the “waiting” area.  Even if you arrive early, we take pride to provide service “as soon as possible”.  Feel free to call us @ (770) 423-4900. Occasionally a tooth is too decayed or damaged to be repaired by a filling, crown or other treatment so it must be removed.   Tooth extractions are the removal of a tooth from the bone. Tooth extractions may be simple extraction or surgical extraction for more complicated.

Tooth Extraction Cost

Tooth extraction cost depends on the complexity of the procedure, but our minimum fee is $275.00.  There may be additional fees such as a bone graph but all that will be reviewed with you.  The cost may also be adjusted if it is part of another procedure.  Dental insurance usually covers the costs.  Feel free to call us @ (770) 423-4900.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the third molar & the rearmost teeth both top and bottom that come in the early twenties.  Often wisdom teeth removal may be needed when they come in impacted with the other teeth causing: infection, pain and bad breath and are often prone to decay.  We usually take ex-rays to know the situation. Some wisdom teeth can be removed as easily as other teeth however some may require special attention.  Wisdom teeth removal is usually a two-step process where the teeth on one side are removed and later the other when the first have recovered.  Dental insurance usually covers wisdom tooth extraction costs.  Feel free to call us @ (770) 423-4900.

Tooth Extraction Pain

There shouldn’t be any actual pain during the procedure.  When eating, there may be some temporary pain if food impacts the area.  If there has been a bone graph with sutures, even that pain will stop after a few weeks.

Tooth Extraction Aftercare

The dentist will usually prescribe a mild painkiller and antibiotic if needed. An ice or cold pack will help relieve pain and swelling.  Don’t suck as with a straw.  Change the gauze before it becomes blood soaked. Limit physical activity that day and possibly the next.  Do not lie flat.  Don’t rub the area with your tongue.  Rinse with salt water after 24 hours to help relieve pain and swelling.  No smoking.  Eat soft foods gradually adding solid foods as can be tolerated.  Continue to brush carefully your teeth and tongue.
