Pediatric Dentistry
The Importance of Pediatric Dentistry
Regular checkups with an experienced pediatric dentist are necessary to protect your child's oral and overall health. During a biannual appointment, our doctors can ensure that your child's teeth are developing properly to give them a good start. We can also also ensure that issues like cavities or gum disease are diagnosed and treated as early as possible.
Besides the immediate benefits of pediatric dental care, there are also long-term advantages for your child. If you can get your child used to visiting the dentist at a young age, they are much less likely to develop dental anxiety in the future. Plus, our dentists will teach your child how to maintain their oral hygiene, helping them develop good habits that can last a lifetime.
Choosing a full-service practice like Verde Pointe Dental Associates is the best decision you can make for your child because they never have to graduate from our care. As they mature, they can continue visiting our Marietta practice for all of their dental needs, ensuring they receive excellent continuity of care and attention from dentists who have known them their whole lives.

Pediatric Dentistry FAQs
When should my child have their first dental appointment?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children first visit a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears or before a child's first birthday. Generally speaking, the earlier you have a dentist take a look at your child's teeth, the better.
Are dental sealants safe?
Some parents are concerned about the safety of dental sealants, questioning if there are unsafe levels of BPA exposure.
At Verde Pointe Dental Associates, we understand parents' concerns and will take the time to answer all of your questions. Of course, we will never complete any treatment for your child without your permission, and we will never offer any sort of care that we don't believe is completely safe.
In regards to BPA and sealants, we agree with the research and position of the American Dental Association, which considers dental sealants to be safe for children.
